They had to counter balance this week's opponent, the Seahawks, who have 3 Trojans on the roster.

The Pats now have two Trojans. Where is Keary Colbert these days, anyway? Or hell, Mike Williams!

How much revenue (percentagewise) do the Dodgers get from hosting the WBC? Enough to pay for a month of CC Sabathia?

How confident was Norv Turner about beating the Raiders?

He scheduled a "Victory Friday" at least three weeks ago.

San Diego punter Mike Scifres wanted to set up a golf game with Shane Lechler at Torrey Pines the day after the game. Lechler told him he had to be in Alameda. Scifres said Turner had already given them the weekend off.

Somehow the AP expects the WBC to gross an additional $40M (up to $100m) from 3 years ago. I'm no mathmatician, but is there really 40% more interest in the WBC this year?

17 I want them to sign Manny or CC and hope if they miss out on either of those two, they don't give any long term big money contracts to anyone else. But I'm afraid of Ned trading away our core to get PVLs. I'd rather have a team that is home grown and not very good then one that is older and mediocre.

So the greatest pitcher of the last 30 years and the greatest position player of the last 30 years (non-steroid division in both cases) each retire as Dodgers. Both loved the game so much that they kept playing it until they were in their mid-forties and worse than mediocre. I think I admire that type of retirement more than the Ted Williams/Mickey Mantle kind.

47 If he's healthy and ready, it'll be a big improvement over Bendtner. Arsenal still needs to buy a midfielder this January. Roy Keane is available :)

49 Definitely. Eduardo is pure class. I think Wenger is definitely going to buy a holding mid. There was a report today that said Wenger has his eye on Melo from Fiorentina. I was hoping mintxcore could throw me a scouting report.

I don't think he wants to come there in January, but it is definitely possible. From what I saw of him earlier this season, I wasn't too impressed. But I've read that he has played better as of late, so maybe he just needed some time to get used to Serie A.

51 His comment about Arsenal being more prestigious than Chelsea was spot on, too!

54.   Zak
53 Absolutely. If I was in his shoes, I'd want to play for Arsenal over Chelsea, and frankly, I'm not the biggest fan of either. But there is no question that Arsenal are a more prestigious club. Of course, in ten-fifteen years, people won't see it that way anymore. Chelsea will have bought themselves the prestige.

65 - it got even worse in the playoffs.
2008-12-05 18:30:31
67.   bhsportsguy
65 But that is easy to explain, they are a group that thrives on high energy and builds off the crowd, but that unit (Odom, Farmar, Sasha, Ariza and Bynum) do not handle sets that well so if the game becomes a possession by possession battle, they could find themselves in trouble.

I think that unit would work better with Gasol since he has a perimeter game.

68 Very few teams have more than one "go to" players.

For many years, KG was seen as a player who did not want the rock at the end of games.

However, there is no Bobby Horry on the Lakers right now and they need someone to emerge to be that player.

Jordan could be that guy.
