I like the mustard one rather than the relish one, but it has an edge, you know . . .

I think this is my favorite so far. I am very much in favor of the shirt being a Vinny reference, thus my vote for "wherever you may be."

However I'm not creative enough to do anything with it.

The Finley slam was something along the lines of "whereever it comes down the Dodgers win, and it's a GRAND SLAM."

I don't know if "If you have a computer...throw it to the sky" works. Love the idea, but it seems clunky to me. (I think I keep waiting for the computer to fall back down and crash on my head.) On the other hand, it obviously has great design potential.

I read that Al Michaels had thought of the "Miracle" line the night before the '80 game against the Russians. Kind of took the luster off that one, and makes Vin's line that much more genius.

Can anyone get a wav file from a cassette?

I'm really just a lurker, but I love the site regardless, hope you don't mind my votes.

Also, I'd tried to think of something clever, but I really couldn't. The only thing I could think of was "The Ron Coomer of Baseball Blogs." But I mean it in a good way!

My vote:

1. Where the game is never over. (even though he's done as the closer I would use "ghame". Hey, it got the site ink in the Times.)

2. Write In: from Smirk: "0 Runs, 300 Hits, 0 Errors" (although I would raise the hits to 500 or 600.

My least favorite baseball call of all time is Chris Berman with his ridiculous "Back, Back, Back, Back, Back, Back." Could he be less original and more annoying? Someone needs to tell him that fat and loud doesn't make you good.

I was actually listening to that game instead of watching since I was at a UCLA football game.

Probably the greatest single day in Southern California baseball when you realize that both the Dodgers and Angels clinched their divisions by beating their rivals from the Bay Area in come from behind fashion, although the Dodgers win was a lot more dramatic.

I even remember watching some of the football game. UCLA beat San Diego State.

It wasn't televised in this part of the country anyway.

I know the game was on 10/2, but the KCOP-TV Dodger Dugout broadcast was the 10/3 pregame show (the day after). In that program, they replayed bits from the previous day, using Vin's radio call. I had DVRed the program and replayed it.

Someone with MLB Gameday Audio could listen to the actual radio call to see if I missed anything.

No, that is not a mistake. I simply believe the above slogan to be far and away the best of the bunch offered. It's 3 for 3: brilliant, true and timeless.
