Vacation extended, I am on a chairlift, experimenting with a phone I may not keep. But the important thing is, it's a beautiful day.

Pittsburgh blogs are not happy about some of the life-time Tracy club members:

Giovanni Carrera finally made it to camp! I know you were holding your breath, but his visa problems have been cleared up and he's here and ready to have a slot in the bullpen handed to him no matter how he pitches this spring.

the june 6th logan white chat is right after the draft so that was good timing. Ill prepare my questions about our 3 first round choices (drabek, parmelee and giardina) ahead of time.

Once you take the phone on a chairlift, aren't you pretty well obligated to buy it?

Regarding DT with a phone, the Treo 650 with the Xiino browser (which you have to buy separately for $30) works great for mobile browsing. Very quick load times. I'm on vacation at the moment as well, using the phone to check DT and the Griddle for my daily baseball fix.

Get your grapefruit spoons ready. Ken Gurnick reports that Maury Wills is working with Jason Repko (and some others) on baserunning also offered some bunting tips to Kenny Lofton.

This is LA Baseball!

If Jon really isn't here, maybe now's the time to say: Bruce Springsteen is okay, I guess; but, outside of Darlington County, I could take or leave him. The sax player was pretty good, though.

Now's also a good time to make fun of "Becker," since Jon's not around to get his feelings hurt.

If/when Bob leaves, we can resume complaining about the Carter trade.

2006-02-21 12:39:12
27.   Bob Timmermann
You can complain about the Carter/Baez trade from about 2:15 to 5 with no repercussions from me.

Update to 25: 10th Avenue Freeze-Out (I don't know what that means, but it doesn't matter) goes on the list of exceptions, too. The thing I don't understand about Springsteen is, if he was able to write honkeytonk, and had a band that could play it, why did he, um, devote so much time to, er, stuff like My Hometown and War? The crie de coeur quotient is too high.

Ok, if we are intent on creating unsubstantiated rumors in Jon's semi-absence, then surely no rumors are more unsubstantiated than those originating at ESPN Insider:
Rumor Central: Izturis trade bait for Dodgers?

It's just a note referring to the LA Times story where Izturis is wondering why he has become a second baseman.
