Califooorrrniiiaaa...
I was gonna say... [giggles]
I had to say it.
The Angels are televising this game on FSN. IIRC, you were able to watch this game last year.
I'm all for swinging away with two strikes, but it should at least be close.
Really?
Gameday had it a bit over his belt.
The D's seemed to trail often in the first two or three innings last year. Bill James noticed this and related this to JP and an awful Furc. batting twice in the first three innings. But I had a gut feeling our pitching was also involved.
I should take that back, he's just a really good ball player.
Well that being the case gameday's strike zone is pretty much worthless, at least for anything up.
At least he ended up seeing 7 pitches after being in the hole 1-2
But I'll be darned, back when I had an everything package I would have got this game on FSW. I just checked and got ordering info. Thanks, but I'll just have to wait for the real thing and embrace the
"super" box.
If
I
Recall
Correctly
1)He was originally a position player. He became a pitcher in his second year in college.
2)He led the Central League in strikeouts (206) in 1996.
3)He became a closer after Kazuhiro Sasaki left the BayStars to join the Seattle Mariners in 2000. His record was 7-1 with 27 saves, and a 1.67 ERA in 2001.
4)He threw a 99 mph fastball in June 26, 2007, which is the all-time record in Japanese Major League pitchers.
I don't believe the last one, but there you go.
I'd be liking my chops also, these guys smell it a mile away.
Yeah, I remembered how surprised you were last year when you were able to pick up the Angels telecast. I didn't want you to miss it in case you still had the same package. Sorry about that. :-) At least the regular season is almost upon us.
30 Call me crazy, I like the blues.
err, I should have dug some more, here is another really interesting fact:
5)Even though Saito is a right-handed pitcher, he bats left-handed. As of 2007 he has yet to have an at-bat in a major league game, so officially he is still listed as a right-handed hitter.
49 that a good memory. I may have had that good package for last years Angel game or series. But is looks like the freeway series may be history anyway.
4)He threw a 99 mph fastball in June 26, 2007, which is the all-time record in Japanese Major League pitchers.
I don't recall him hitting 99 as a Dodger, he pitched in AZ that day, maybe their gun is just fast.
If spring training stats mean anything, Jones is going to have a bad year and Hu a good one. And I have a feeling these are going to hold.
Furcal
Hu
Ethier
69 I agree. I foresee good years from Furcal, Martin, Loney, Ethier, Hu and 4/5 starting pitchers.
Bad years from Jones, Pierre, Kent, Broxton and Beimel.
Unclear: Kemp, LaRoche, Garciaparra
90%: .307 BA, 11 HR, 60 RBI, .380 OBP, .438 SLG, 108 R, 31 SB, .288 Eqa, 7.6 WARP3
Hang me out to dry by Cold War Kids
Is anybody worried about Loney's Spring batting avg? Martin's avg is actually lower but we have to give him the benefit since he is obviously proven over 2 seasons.
I hope Hu plays into a starting spot next year.
good song, good band!
I don't know about you but I hate it when coaches do that stuff.
Ethier also intends to play for Mexico in the next WBC.
Imagine an up-the-middle that consists of Martin, Hu, Etanislao & A. Jones, Woah.
This game does not count.
This game does not count.
This game does not count.
This game does not count.
This game does not count.
This game does not count.
If I keep reminding myself of that fact, I won't start throwing things at the screen.
But it would be nice to have bragging rights, I just don't like it that the Halos beat us year in & year out.
Not a great night for the Bison.
I'm just bummed that work responsibilities kept me from the park.
If he doesn't play over Pierre, management is sending a horrible message to every young player in the org.
Of do you guys think the 3rd base coach sent him?
Bad bat, breaking like that - it should be 4-2 Dodgers right now.
So does this mean that Ethier has won the competition for the rf job and that Kemp and Pierre will be battling it out for playing time?
A bad joke, but at the outset of st wasn't that the deal, Ethier vs Kemp?
Hu who has 2 hits in the game is pinch hit for with Young.
I am weary of Joe Torre having a little too much fun and not enough thinking.
Hit and run with Ethier on a 2-1 count?
judging from this outing I'm surprised he didn't hit you....
Anyone will do.
Including you.
Pierre grandslam, I'm calling it.
AHAHAHAHAH.
Ive watched most ST games and the D's have not caught the breaks. This tends to turn around, and it doesn't distinguish between exhibition and real games.
If Kershaw is a Minotaur, Pierre is a baby dragon -- a mythical leadoff hitter.
If he really did the things everyone says he's so good at, he might be okay, but he doesn't.
Hey D4P this is bluebleeder, best wishes bro.
If Kershaw gets called up, will he start or relieve? and if the latter, is that conducive of his development as a starter?

It takes a man, to eggknowlegdge a mistake so my respects to him.
I realize that was probably unintentional but I seriousley LOLed and spilled beer all over my shirt.
I thought the DH wasn't allowed to take a field position
