Baseball Toaster runs on some experimental software called Fairpole. It's still under development.
For more information, please visit the Fairpole blog, or read the FAQ.
In 52 innings over the past three seasons against the Dodgers, Brandon Webb has allowed seven runs (1.21 ERA) on 44 hits and 13 walks. He has started seven games, and he is 7-0.
Trivia: Who hit the only Dodger home run in that span? The starting lineup for that game will stir some memories, or embers, or members ...

Rule 6 violation!
I guess that's something.
Third time's a Ch-rm.
The mind...She is boggled!
Hey, Mark Sweeney has a HR vs. Webb, too. Maybe we should've reactivated him today after all.
(What will Jones do today?)
"Show me...THREE FOR FIVE!"...
[X]
He had a career year in a contract year in 2006, and has OPS+ed under 90 ever since. Not to mention his career .316 OBP, which includes .292 in 2008.
On 6/11 his ERA was 2.54. Since then he has had 6 starts and given up 20 ER's in 35 IP and seen his ERA go up to 3.23.
That said, I think we will be fortunate to score 4 runs today.
Yesterday after reading the comments about how bad Jones has looked and his leaving the game early the day before I wondered if he had some really serious ailment and was headed for the DL. Now I read that he is starting today. How much longer can Joe stick with this guy?
Beltre's career: .271/.327/.458
Beltre in 2008: .262/.334/.440
If the Dodgers can get him back, put LaRoche at 2nd base--> that wouldnt be too bad for 2009.
Beltre just 1 yr left on his deal, at 12 mils for 2009.
That yard kills his numbers.
And it's just the 5th inning! Jesus Flores is already 4 for 4.
Sorry, I'm feeling extra pedantic today.
Weeks career SLG: .401
The Padres have taken a 3-1 lead in St. Louis on a 2-run homer by Cha Seung Baek.
I wonder if he is still in the future plans for the Brewers? I always thought Hardy was going to be the one that gets traded but maybe its Weeks now with them going with a MIF of Escobar and Hardy.
Look at his pedigree and his minor league numbers. This guy was suppose to be Gary Sheffield at 2b.
Is the theme "Korean baseball players," "DePo acquisitions," or "Korean DePo acquisitions"...?
He's another guy, like LaRoche, about whom people will say "He finally figured it out!" when it'll just be a case of staying on the field.
Could work out for both teams.

Webb went 7 2/3 innings, allowed nine hits (eight singles), walked zero, struck out 11, induced four double plays.
That was the last time I ever got really upset about the result of a sporting event.
I walked home from the Rose Bowl that day.
I didn't really live that far from the Rose Bowl back in 1990, so it was a protest that involved very little effort on my part.
I think the Brewers are going to look for pitching somehow after losing CC and Sheets in the offseason.
Villaraigosa is actually wearing 05.
It's almost as if anyone could be a major league manager.
Somehow, I don't think this game balances the books for him.
Does the color of the alert ever change from the first sentence to the second...?
We don't acquire players at that age. We give up on them.
We acquire 35 year old players.
Depending on how Penny comes in the second half, value probably won't match up for the Brewers. Hardy's having a really good year.
Weeks has had one good stretch in his entire career (203 Abs as a 22yr old in AAA).
LaRoche, at least to this point, has not proven he's mediocre quite like Weeks has.
My reaction in 06 was "How in the world did that happen? That UCLA team was terrible!"
Hey Mad Men marathon on all day.
So why is Peggy putting on all that weight?
Oh man, i do have a bit of a crush on her.
What is "Hey Mad Men"...?
And none of them are very good.
I don't mind Grace in comparison to all their other ones. Only because he makes me laugh with his manlove over Broxton.
I thought somehow you said announcing combo.
Don't mind me...
I hope Daron Sutton has changed his clothes for each game.
And I'm starting to sour on Daron Sutton. He umpires in the booth, which is one thing, but he's a lousy umpire. He calls James Loney "Matt Kemp." He thinks Orlando Hudson should have made the All-Star Team over Chase Utley and Dan Uggla. He uses the phrase "that man" about 15 times more per game than he should.
That guy is a complete tool and takes homerism in announcing to new levels I thought could never be reached.

As an aside, I really wish Gameday showed OBP.
Oh come on.

129 - True. I don't know why their defense has been so porous early, too.
