Since he essentially became the starting right fielder this month, Andre Ethier has sat out four games. On the days before being benched, he is a combined 1 for 17 with two walks.
On August 12 against today's left-handed starter, Cole Hamels, Juan Pierre started and went 1 for 4. Ethier grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning, then had a game-winning RBI single in the ninth.
Ethier, who homered Friday night, is starting today.
Outfield/designated hitter starts for the season, through Friday:
113 Matt Kemp
99 Andre Ethier
79 Juan Pierre
55 Andruw Jones
19 Manny Ramirez
18 Delwyn Young
Outfield innings this season:
1,032 Kemp
899 Ethier
666 Pierre
488 Jones
177 Ramirez
148 Young

If Russell Mountain catches nine innings today, that will give him exactly 1,000 for the season.
IIRC, they use some kind of term like "milky minutes" or something. Is that a real term...?
i always loved milk as a kid so my mom would use me as an example... my sisters would get all jealous. :o)
Is that something new?
We need more games against the Padres and Nats!
>> Blake DeWitt had a triple and a double, Chin-lung Hu went 3-for-4 with a double, and both drove in two runs. A.J. Ellis had two doubles, and Angel Chavez went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.
51s starter Jerome Williams (1-2) shut out Colorado Springs (66-66) on two hits and one walk in five innings. Relievers James McDonald and Justin Orenduff each allowed one hit and no walks in two innings. <<

we were warned about Kyle Russell & his K tendencies but it looks like he is putting up good enough numbers to were the K's wont matter?
hopefully he can do that in the higher divisions, but it dose look pretty promising.
(also I was at Shea last night trying to root against Los Mets while surrounded by "52,000" of their fans, many of whom were dressed like empty seats!)
>> "The guys have received me with open arms, it's been great," Ramirez said of his new teammates. "It feels like I'm on vacation; I'm here for another month or two. After this, I don't know what's going to happen. I'm living day by day." <<
## Ramirez has surprised his new teammates with his defense as well.
"He gets real jumps in the outfield," Loney said. ##

Mariano Duncan. YOU ARE ON NOTICE.
Andruw Jones, the only 1st base coach getting paid $18 million a year.
0 - Does today's post title mean you think the Dodgers are playing like zombies, Jon?
It's hard to say where Lambo will end up defensively, but his bat will get him to the majors.
The only Loon to have a wikipedia page at the moment.
SWEET.

Poor, D4P.
I hope we see Buck and McCarver a lot in October.
Now we're going to have Cajuns from two different states argue over the pronunciation and spelling.
Because of that though, I have no way to watch the Dodger game as it's blacked out on MLB.tv. MLB has some really good policies aimed at alienating fans. Cheers.
Loney going opposite field again. Pretty.
1) the revolution
2) the Padres-Giants game today. The debut of Dirk Hayhurst!
Kind of odd the game is not even being shown here.

...And what the heck Rosenthal. WHAT THE HECK.
Regular Season Weekend U.S. National Live Blackout: Due to Major League Baseball exclusivities, live games occurring each Saturday with a scheduled start time after 1:10 PM ET or before 7:05 PM ET and each Sunday with a scheduled start time after 5:00 PM ET, will be blacked out in the United States.
We must find the Rosenthal mole and flush them out.
I'd pull him after Ryan Howard.
Kershaw because they are are trying to conserve his innings, and Maddux is only good for 70 so pitches a game.
A little one sided, but the usual game for the Dodgers when they play an east coast team in the east.
It always seems they play like they are not ready for prime time.
Also they play their worst when they are nationally televized.
