To answer a question on the previous thread:

Since the Manny trade:

Ethier: .314/.381/.667/1.048
Kemp: .271/.290/.466/.756
Manny: .414/.500/.748/1.248

Great headline! I also like SI's "In Vin Veritas."

Though late for PeanutsThoughts in the previous thread, I would like to point out that I have a Snoopy tattoo.

2 As one with an Underdog tattoo, I'll have your back if anyone mocks you.

Darn, the DT Fantasy Football draft is at the same time as the start of the Dodger game. So if it's slightly quieter in here for the first few innings, you'll know why.

I did see the preview for Privileged last night and it looked like it could be good. Got Vikki from Freaks and Geeks in the lead.

I agree about Fringe, Jon. That was no good.

I liked True Blood, but the re-cast the best character from the pilot I saw.

It's episodic, not a continuous story like Lost.

I would say it is like X-Files mixed with Bones, or what I assume Bones is like.

6 - He's been hot the past eight games and with a lefty on the mound it's worth a shot. If it were against a right hander Loney would be cleanup.

7 - The Fringe pilot was fine, so I wouldn't say "no good." Just didn't knock me out.

4 - I forgot about True Blood. That was fun if a bit inconsistent. I'm still watching that.

30 Parts of a couple ep due to waiting for Chuck. Didn't care for it, thought they used the wrong kind of protagonist for the show. Should have used a young guy or girl who would have the time of his life digging the 70's. Almost make it into a stoner's parody.

32.   LogikReader
From the SI article:

In any case, he's not a baseball fan particularly and doesn't miss the games. He's sat in the stands just once...

This continues to be one of the stranger things about Vin. I'm sure Vin has a passion for the game, but he doesn't seem to love it enough to want to be a part of it outside his domain of broadcasting. He also disassociates himself from the players, which isn't such a bad thing, but it's fascinating.

It's interesting reading I Love LA's angst. I haven't had that much passion as a baseball fan since I was very young, like age 8 - 13. That was when I thought the Dodgers (and USC) were the best team no matter their actual record. The closest to that I've come since was the 80's Lakers, especially when they were playing the Celtics. 255 Sigh. Okay, I'll try. This is Jon Weisman's web blog. He invites us all to comment here, but does moderate him. That's him you were talking to. He uses the handle "Jon Weisman". Also there are some rules in the lower right hand side that he would like us to abide by, so scroll all the way down and check those out. And then, dude, abide.

For 240.
One of the reasons this site has become such an enjoyable community for some Dodger fans is the respect for guidelines set up by the guy who runs it.
We like the tone that has been set and fully intend to keep it that way. If it's not for you, feel free to move on. It is a free country and you have the freedom to express yourself... but people who run websites have the right to moderate them.
Go Blue!

btw-this isn't a pile-on I Love LA.. It's just pointing out that many of the people who comment here are tired of the bombastic fanatic stuff that's found in other forums. The conversation here is a running one that has gone on more than 4 years now (feel free to give exact years folks). I don't post much but greatly enjoy the perspective, knowledge and humor of the posters and would like it to remain a bastion of intelligence and sanity in Dodger Fandom.

Heaven help us! A Dodger team that is having fun! I don't believe my eyes and ears!

This is the first I've seen of this in quite some time. It's been like since the Mickey Hatcher "Lets go wash the bullpen Nissan" days.

Honestly, when was the last time you seen a Dodger team have this much fun?

321 Berroa had Manny be his interpreter for an interview with Patrick O'Neal. Said that he was just trying to play baseball, 5 game win streak was awesome. And then in mid answer he starts to speak english, and then switched back to Spanish. Then Patrick asked him how he feels about the new LF, and Berroa answers in English "Who, who? You mean Juan Pierre?" Meanwhile Manny's all translating to Spanish, and then retranslating Berroa's answers back into English... Even the answers Berroa gave in English.
