Dodger Thoughts: Where optimists and pessimists are served daily! Try our Happy Meal - or our Sad Meal.
Thanks to Xei's simulator I came up with the odds of each team's finish, here they are.
Arizona
6-0 2.2%
5-1 12.2%
4-2 27.0%
3-3 31.6%
2-4 19.8%
1-5 6.3%
0-6 0.8%
Dodgers
6-0 5.5%
5-1 20.7%
4-2 32.3%
3-3 26.3%
2-4 12.0%
1-5 2.8%
0-6 0.3%
Arizona has a 58.5% chance of finishing 3-3 or worse, and LA has 84.8% chance of finishing 3-3 or better. With the most likely outcome being a Dodger finish of 4-2 and Arizona at 3-3 (10.2%). The least likely finish is both teams finishing 0-6 which would happen 3 times in 125,000 tries
In-stant re-play!
I probably played at the Bruin or Village. Maybe the Avco.

I prefer Diane Lane in Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains, but maybe that's just me.
10 - Actually, here's what led me to my latest post.

I forgot Rick Moranis was in Streets of Fire. Fun.
Also, I mentioned (complained) last week about never winning anything at fan appreciation day. Well, wouldn't you know the first seat called for a prize was my neighbors. They won a $100 Staples gift card which was the perfect prize for a teacher.

Wow, I see you in a whole new light now.
Pretty much all the comments vehemently disagreed with him
So will parking go up again for the playoff games? Grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Watched the first season of Twitch last week. Thanks for the tip. It bugged me for four episodes but I finally figured out I was watching the gold heiress of Deadwood.
As I was buying playoff tickets, the parking was offered at $15 to buy in advance. I eschewed that, thinking it would also be $15 at the stadium.
When did anybody say THAT? I don't even know if it's my favorite show right now (might be 30 Rock).
29 Frank McCourt
I like that. Maybe for $15, he will send you in-game text updates.
Seriously though, what's wrong with the MLB text updates? I have never used it, so I am just curious. Also, I'm assuming you don't have Mobile Web or something so you can jsut check scores when you want?

Also sounds like a possible DT post later this week is mentioned in this press release.
I hope the Dodgers will be "tasting the happy" tonight!

but.. the First and Last episodes of S4 were undeniably fantastic!
I haven't used it before either, but for $3.99, they'll send you "15-20 updates per week." In other words, two or three per game. I figured there had to be something better than that.
28 thanks.
bh's link should work for you, Eric. I use the same service to get updates for Dodgers games, USC games, and Steelers games. On Saturdays in September, it can get really hectic!
You get to choose between scoring updates, 3rd/6th/9th inning updates, or both.
Going back to your post about clinching dates, I think what happened in 1974, was that the Dodgers were playing in Houston and the Reds lost before their game was over, thereby clinching the division for the Dodgers.
If you look at the box score for that game, you see a lot of subsitutions taking place as the game goes on.
If we were to remove the part of you that hates this country, would you still feel that way? :-)
Honestly, they seem like totally different shows to me, at this point. They just happen to both take place in an office.

Thanks about the 1974 info. Tonight I was going to search for the newspaper accounts of the games to see about these situations.

Right on. The opening scene of season 4 still has me laughing hard.
And I re-watched Toby's Goodbye Party the other day. I can't wait to see if they continue the plot of Kevin being special.
Is Hank trying to tell us he didn't like the Yankees making the playoffs in 2007, 2005, 2001, 2000....
Mine is SunChips Garden Salsa. Very tasty and lots of fiber, too.

I like him even more know.
Will the AA Chatanooga team still be called the Lookouts? Too bad they couldn't take over the Montgomery Biscuits.
I'm trying to stay away from any chip that uses partially hydrogenated oil, which is a lot of commercial chips. The new Tostitos chips are too salty for my taste.
I like Garden of Eatin' chips, too, the blue corn, sesame/blue, and others.
Chips Thoughts, I like it!

A chip could never replace a good salsa. Never!
I also like Hawaiian BBQ.
Not Zesty Mordant or Jalapeno? ;)
Interesting. I loved the Dukes logo back in the day.
I owe Chattanooga an extra "t" in 73 , btw.

I'll never understand Texas.
Um...wow.
Homemade the way to go. My mother-in-law made tortilla's and chips and I miss those tortilla's dearly. A fresh chip right out of the oil, lightly dusted with salt, ummm good. Her daughter can still make a mean chip but never grasped the subtlety of a good Sanchez tortilla.
Bison chips?
You'd think that with all that farm land up there, they'd be able to grow something.

5 / 78.55% / 18.71%

Watching the Dodgers these days are a lot like watching a horror movie when I was a tot.
You are so wound up in the plot line waiting for the scary moment. Not wanted to watch for fear that you would see the monster, but afraid to miss the good triumphing over the evil that you have to watch between your fingers.
In this case, its leave the room (where the TV is playing), enter the room. Go to the internet, go back to the room. Go to the kitchen, go outside and pet the dog. Go back to the room. Explain to your wife that she can't turn off the TV or watch something else, despite the fact that you are leaving the room for (at times) lengthy intervals.

Same here, I only watch the offense unless Kershaw/Chad/Kuo are pitching.
It would be fun to edit a season and offer the package of 162 games in 1/2 hour segments. Not just highlights but the best of each game. I'd be curious to see if I could make it worthwhile to watch in a 1/2 hour without losing all the subtlety of what baseball offers. Whenever I've watched the old World Series packages I'm astonished on what they leave out.

Guess Manuel comes back next year.
sigh ....
New post up top.
I'm a definite chip snob. Gotto go with Hawaiian Kettle Style Chips (either sweet onion or regular), Cape Cod Classic, or Poore Brothers. We grew up on what we called Frito Boats, they were a high school football game staple. Poured the chili right into the Fritos bags. Maybe it's a Valley thing (Central not San Fernando).
I don't usually get too ga-ga over actresses, but Diane Lane is one of the exceptions. She's always looked good, and seems to have gotten better with age (or maybe it just because my age and tastes have progressed along at the same rate).
Go Dodgers. If we get this one tonight, I'm going to sleep comfortably. If we lose, it might be time to break out the mouthpiece to save myself from teeth grinding.
Xeifrank is extremely polite.
But i am not in the 'all US TV is rubbish camp' by any means. I love the Sopranos, it's always sunny in Philadelphia, and other shows. But US TV is different, and invidious comparisons were always going to be drawn when they remade a UK show for an American audience. We are probably going to do the same thing when a remake of Kath & Kim for US audiences airs here in Australia. It won't seem as good, to us.
