1992 Is Alive (Barely)
2004-06-01 17:33
by Jon Weisman

Tangent: Each regular from the 1992 Dodger infield is still in the bigs (no slight at the late, lamented Mike Sharperson intended).

Eric Karros, 36, Oakland - 10 for 66, five walks, .208 OBP, .288 slugging, .496 OPS, .162 EQA
Lenny Harris, 39, Florida - 7 for 30, zero walks, .233 OBP, 267 slugging, .500 OPS, .160 EQA
Jose Offerman, 35, Minnesota - 20 for 87, 17 walks, .356 OBP, .402 slugging, .758 OPS, .264 EQA
Dave Hansen, 35, Seattle - 12 for 41, seven walks, .388 OBP, .439 slugging, .827 OPS, .304 EQA

Dave Hansen is still younger than me? I know he was younger than me 10 years ago - but how can he still be younger than me now? He's old!

This might have been baseball's first All-Scorpio infield, but Hansen was born two days late.

Karros: November 4, 1967
Harris: October 28, 1964
Offerman: November 11, 1968
Hansen: November 24, 1968

I'm a late-November kid myself.
