For Jonathan Broxton, it may be "the whole left side of the menu."

Tonight's game was definitely the smile of the week.

Thanks for the pitch by pitch Jon.

Oh boy was i surprised when i turned on gameday to see Broxton and Navarro both in the game. Hopefully i'll get to see him throw another day.

The results could have been better, but he had a couple of spots of bad luck on the first two hits. Striking out Pujols with men on was pretty impressive. I think I can see why they felt he didn't need a stop at AAA.

For a fresh rookie to be putin against one of the best line-ups in the league and the best hitter on his first day up and strike-out Pujols and keep us in the game better than Gio ever could -- I'd say it was an unqualified success.

If he keeps it up I could see us trading Braz in the off season.

"The to-do list still includes a hitter to support Milton Bradley and Jeff Kent in the middle of the lineup, although a baseball source said Friday the Dodgers have not recently spoken with the Cincinnati Reds about slugger Adam Dunn and the teams do not appear to match up well in trade talks."

Woo Hoo! Oh, I'm on the "No Prospects named Billingsley, Martin, LaRoche, Tiffany, Guzman Loney for Dunn" side of the fence.

That third pitch he threw to eckstein looked like a strike to me. If it would have been called strike three, it would have changed the outlook of the inning.

After Broxton got strike three against Pujols, I wonder if the ball was sent over to the Dodger dugout -- to become a keepsake for Broxton, like a hitter keeps the ball when he gets his first major league hit. If I were Broxton I would want that ball. I would even ask Pujols to sign it.
