Picture postcards, anyone?

Unfortunately, it appears that Channel 9 isn't televising tonight's 10 p.m. game after all, so we'll have to settle for KABC 790 AM until Saturday.

Great slideshow. The pic of Steiner is funny. The climb is tough. I went to the top outpost at the same place. That's the BaDaLing portion of the wall. The pollution didn't look too bad, but hard to tell. Wonderful pics, looks like it was cold.

108 - Sigh, indeed, Train. :-( I knew that was going to be a trap game, they just couldn't beat UCI this year, don't know why. But as I told my dad tonight, if they couldn't beat UCI it's not like they'd win a game in the NCAA's this year either. NIT, here they come. (Did you watch the game on ESPNU? I only followed some of it via a gamecast.)

They have a superb recruiting class coming in the next two years so hopefully they'll make a stronger postseason showing then. Feh.

Darn, no Dodgers game on TV tonight. Guess I'll finish watching the rest of the DVD I have queued up - The Seven Ups. 2nd Best car chase ever.

I don't see any explanation for the cancellation of this evenings KCAL telecast. Both newspapers listed the game in today's paper. I can't help but feel that this is a bit of a PR debaucle. The first professional baseball game ever played in China, what could have happened? Problems with licensing the MLB broadcast? Acrimony left over from the KFWB exodus?
Something smells fishy here.

The drinking game is when you become a Border Patrol agent. That job would just make me fear running into Anton Chigurh somewhere.

That throw actually was right on target, but when the ball saw that it was Matt Kemp running, it decided it better tail away to the third base side.

Sorry to break into Dodger chat, but tonight sucked for me.

Got held for over half an hour by police for being brown and having short hair.

Anyways, go Bison!

I don't think a tie game is going to bother the Chinese fans at all. There are ties in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

wasn't that bad... CHP pitched 5 great innings only gave up one fluke run when May had a brain fart and threw away the toos back to the pitcher, Guo pitched well in his 2 innings. If Paul had made the catch on that fly ball we win. Plus there is another game tomorrow.

Insomnia sucks. So does a tie. At least no one got hurt, and the Pads and D's didn't get in a rumble.

Explosions in the Sky is really good. And so is Brook Lopez. And so, at least tonight, was Chan Ho Park. I mean, he looked incredible. If that's what we're going to get from our 5th starter, sign me up. But it was probably just a fluke.

Has the better-seeded team won every game in the Pac-10 tourney? Has that ever happened before?

I never much minded Matt Vasgersian before, but after tonight I think I would like to do the world a favor and strangle him. The same goes for his knuckleheaded partner, Mark Grant (he of the awful pitching career), who provided some Bill Singer-style Chinese gibberish which both he and Matt found rather amusing.

i was at the game.....very exciting for China. i was surprised at the number of chinese who attended. lots of expats, quite a few americans who were delighted to have american baseball in the country.

they tried to sell what they were calling hot dogs...pretty bad. the peanuts were bad too...but hell, it's china and it was all made up by the fact that you could buy a case of local beer at the concession stand for 100rmb (about $13) and bring it back to your seat! there was a dodger fan in front of me who made a point of sharing his case with other dodger fans but not the padre fans nearby! LOL

I'm no judge of talent but the Dodgers looked tired, tentative and out of shape i thought. Jones and Kemp timing seemed off. Hu was pretty shaky. i thought Park Chan Ho pitched well. this kid Lindsey is slow as molasses in January. I don't even know the name of the kid pitching in the 8th (announcing was unhearable and nothing on the scoreboard) but he got hammered by everyone who came up against him.

was interesting to listen to the Padre corporate lawyer (who looked like a surf bum) talk about how they and other MLB teams are just drooling to get into here and market their brand. a billion potential customers!

the park looked like a minor league park but apparently is not the main ball stadium. two others still under construction next door. the grass looked pretty awful. it was a beautiful day for March in Beijing and the sky was uncharacteristically clear but it was breezy and the ubiquitous dust blew in quite often.

looking forward to tomorrow....we'll be on the first base side this time. not a sellout today so will be interesting to see how many show up tomorrow.

159. Great stuff, wish I was there. Watch out for those dreaded dust storms. Glad the pollution blew away somewhat. Yeah, beer is cheap and good in China. $0.25 for a bottle at a restaraunt in China. Hit N miss on whether they serve it at room temperature though. They haven't caught on to the concept of cold drinks there. They tried to put ice in a glass for me one time. That was a double whammy because you ain't suppose to drink the tap water/ice either. I said, no thanks I will drink it warm, then actually sipped my tea instead.
