Willie Davis is No. 1 with 8,035.
Update: Jonathan Broxton is unavailable tonight and went to have an MRI, Tony Jackson reports.
A couple comments/questions:
1. Are we supposed to think that Kelso is now off the show?
2. A likely scenario: Dr. Cox is offered the chief of medicine position. He resists, despite much cajoling from Jordan. He finally agrees to accept the position, after he and JD share a "special" moment in which JD expresses his respect and support.
Never have, probably will one day
Oops, there's a bit of a spoiler, though nothing too surprising.
The first 4 seasons or so are great, and definitely worth watching.
Broxton taken for MRI (Tony Jax).
Who comes to the rescue? Jon Meloan?
He wants to be a starter... How about Brazoban?
Broxton might have a lat strain similar to Rich Harden's. He'll miss at least tonight's game. If he's forced to the DL, the Dodgers could call up Yhency Brazoban or Ramon Troncoso. The decision to cut Rudy Seanez at the end of the spring is looking more foolish by the week.

While I find the genius and the geek to be incompatiable in the same mind, I'm really enjoying the annoying character in Big Bang. The Time Machine story line was the best they have done. The easy geek jokes should get old after a while and I'm curious how they plan to combat it, but I've enjoyed the 1st season.
Oh please. Is that tongue in cheek? If they seriously think that, they've just dropped off the face of the earth in my mind.
I never had you down as a video game guy.
Iron Man is actually getting great reviews at Rottentomatoes. Jon's Variety guy really liked it. I have a weakness for anything Marvel and hope they pull off this new studio gig. This is the 1st movie they self produced and the rebirth of Marvel is one of the great business/entertainment stories of the 21st century. If anyone is ever interested in a David versus Goliath story read "Comic Book Wars" and it will make the rebirth of Marvel even more special.
That is why Rotoworld is free and Rotowire costs you some coin.

and I was having a hard time seeing what you were looking at.
I still laugh while watching Scrubs, but I find myself not really liking the show. The supporting cast is still solid, but JD and Elliot have been "dialing it in" for a while now.

D4P, to answer your question, isn't this the final season? If there are but a scant few episodes left, the character in question can still appear now and then but if that person is off the show it's only for a few episodes.
Is anybody? It always depends on who is doing the writing. I'm sure when Erickson is writing the rotowire stuff he is spot on when it comes to analysis but given they do this 24/7 who knows who is actually writing this stuff.
I love Marvel stuff, too. I dunno if I'll be watching Iron Man in theaters, though.
Didn't stop me from playing, though.
While Martin may or my not be our best player, I think you could easily argue the step down from Martin to Bennet would be largest step down in performance then any other position the Dodgers have.
And of course, I'm just stating the obvious I was await the 04:00 game box scores to start kicking in.
And I really think that Roto comment on Seanez was sarcastic. They can be pretty facetious. I hope so, for their sake, anyway.
I had to think twice about what you meant by PC. The other kind of "PC" might make a GTO game last about 5 minutes long.
vr, Xei
Okay, that was a bit of lucky hit for Martin, but we'll take it. Kent's shot went for an out so it works out.

48. So,that´s why the crowd hasn´t arrived!
Thank you!

Okay, as you wish, I have the MLBTV on my work computer. After Lowe gave up a little dribbler hit to start off, Martin nailed the baserunner trying to steal, and the next two batters went out meekly. Inning over. 1-0 Dodgers after 1.

Kinda cool to see Andruw and Pierre in the dugout chatting together. At least Pierre's cordial to him, even if some among us probably wish neither of them were in the dugout.

Is the 2002 Dodger draft the best in team history? Is it one of the best drafts of all-time?
In 1968, the Dodgers drafted Bobby Valentine, Bill Buckner, Tom Paciorek, Doyle Alexander, Joe Ferguson, and then later (in the secondary phase, which no longer exists) nabbed Steve Garvey & Ron Cey.
Time, and perhaps James McDonald, will tell which draft was better, but it's cool to be reaping the rewards of such great drafting.
5-0 Blue
Miller is still only 23 (well, on May 21). He's been beaten like a drum thus far in 2008 but he just needs some time in the minors to develop and by next year or sooner should contribute positively to the Marlins.
96 I don't think Miller should be judged too harshly yet. He just needs some more seasoning. Or perhaps a lot.
I dont know how much development will matter if his stuff doesnt improve. I mean, he's lost a good 6-7 mph on his fastball. Its hard to go from a power pitcher to a finesse guy at the age of 23.
(I keed, I keed...)
Oh, and he's only got one option left, better hope he figures things out soon.
The perils of an instant major league contract. Wasn't Wily Mo Peña in the same situation? Out of options while still very green.
Canuck, is it too early to rate the 2002 draft ahead of the 1968 draft (see 87 )? I need an expert opinion.
So we have a horse and a bison out there.
The Marlins are probably very upset that the Tigers had Miller throw five innings in the FSL in 2006 before calling him up.
2-0 now. Jayson Werth is unreal right now.
A couple of great matchups tonight. The guy going for win number 350 against young hot shot Cole Hammels, and the 1st ever beat down for 1st place between the Orioles and Rays after opening day.
---1922: The NY Giants hit 4 inside-the-park HRs.
---1986: Roger Clemens set the ML strikeout record of 20 (no mention if any where chemically-enhanced).
---1933: Senators catcher Luke Sewell tagged out two Yankee runners at home on the same play. Lou Gehrig had held up, thinking a fly ball would be caught. Duke Walker closed up on him, and both were tagged out.
Wonder what Bowa will do if something like that happens now? We could get the answer to whether a human actually can explode...
The Horse gets a K and then a close out at first on comebacker. And inning over.
Okay, I better do some actual work now for awhile.
I guess Ned's gut isn't as good at player evaluation as he thinks it is.
I have to admit that while I admired what Werth did for us in 2004 I felt he was a steroid story and that he would never duplicate 2004 again. It took 3 years but he certainly is back on track. My wife thought he was the best looking Dodger on the team. Come to think of it she hasn't been to as many games since he left the team.
James Anthony "The Bull" Loney
could this be a roster just full of wild animals?
Yes, but not just "clutch." He has appeared to me to be a different hitter as of last Friday. I'm still waiting for a followup story to appear in print/online as to what brought on this change.
Comparing modern day drafts with the two stage-drafts is also inherently difficult for another reason. The Dodgers drafted 101 players in 1968, and 52 in 2002.
you gotta think great scouting & plenty of luck was involved but wow pretty cool, the Penguin & Steve Garvey alone...
I feel like the Rox (I'm sure some will agree with me) could have very very easily had there way with us but depending on who you ask, our bullpen was clutch or the Rockies hitters were just really bad.
It's games like the weekend that get you out of slumps so I'm cool with what ever gets us over the hill.
We're crossing our collective fingers as of right now, but ask us later when they REALLY GET HOT, & I'll probably have a different answer WaterBoy100 :o)
It is complicated and hard to answer here. If BHsportsguy was around he'd point you to a Rob Neyer link that explained them in detail.

pretty handy
I know... It's one of those "must shave to look younger type ones"
- Giambi walked on a full count.
- S.Duncan walked on a full count, Giambi to second.
- Ensberg walked on a full count, Giambi to third, S.Duncan to second
Andruw came oh so close to a home run, I thought for sure it was gone at first. Caught right at the fence.
The way good 'ol Stainer called it it got me excited really quick, then not so much.
cough Andruw Jones end cough
Not even close. Andruw is only like that on fly balls that he has tracked down. And to my knowledge, he's never dropped one where he does the "catch with eyes semi-closed, behind head, etc" move. James just gets lazy sometimes, and it could really come back to bite Lowe.
I feel like its the same reason Ernie Ells doesn't win more majors, or at least finish in the top 3 or 5 more often
And there it is. and then James completely misses the relay and lets Hermida go to third. Terrible defensive inning for James, and now we have a game.
Give me a break, Derek.
Loney had an easy easy grounder but he dropped it & then was late giving the ball to D-Lowe for the play at first.
..., three year old on the West Coast.
haha in my anger i actually severely misspelled bite, but thanks for trying to cover that up for me.
Just click on the help button right above where you comment and it will be all explained.

I was a bit frustrated when I woke up after a whopping three hours and realized it was only 1 a.m. I then pleasantly realized that I could actually track the Dodger game (among others). When I first started we were up 6-1 and a lot of my fantasy players were actually doing well. Since then the Dodgers lost their lead and Ian Snell started getting rocked :(
At least I know I'm safe now. My archenemy has left the country. But I hear he has operatives working for him.
He said they're tearing down the Sugar Bowl to make way for the Marlins' new stadium.
He's also mentioned a few times that the Marlins owner sold naming rights to the stadium to a compamy that went out of business, despite which the name was retained for two more years. But he never mentioned the name of that company.
I have the Marlins announcer, and while they were Okay initially, as they have gotten excited, they are about as obnoxious as most homers.
As was true with the 10 inning first, I am intruiged that if an offense gets ahead by about 5 or more, it almost always does nothing for many innings. I don't think this only happens with the Dodgers, but it is surely an opportunity for study.
Hello everybody!
There is no stadium called the Sugar Bowl in Louisiana. The New Year's Day game has been played at Tulane Stadium (which was torn down a while ago) and the Louisiana Superdome.
The naming rights to Dolphins Stadium are controlled by the Dolphins, not the Marlins.
I also thought it was funny that when talking about the Rays young pitchers, they mentioned all but Edwin Jackson. This year, Edwin would be the 2nd or 3rd best starter on the staff right now.
I'm just a Loney boy
Loney and blue
Presumably many people are on the roads. And it's very hard to drive and type on the blog at the same time. Except for the poster we all call "Flamey."
People on the East Coast would stay on the job longer so they could slack off and watch the game.
Just a reminder, it's "holy heck" around here.
What the heck was Bowa thinking?
It used to be called Pro Player Stadium after it was called Joe Robbie Stadium.
We always made fun of it by calling it Panty Park or some other derivation of Underware Stadium.
One beef with Gameday: if you click on the pitchers to see their stats you get numbers for batting (against, presumably).
Edit: Rabelo's at bat came and went as I was typing so I guess not. :-)
I actually dont think he swung at any. Those were pretty borderline pitches, and with Kemp's luck, he would have K'd each time.
... With the way umpires have been calling pitches on Kemp, nothing's a ball.
6 2-out RBIs
Winning 1 run games
Livin good.
13-13.
Or...we win!
Dodgers went up 7-6( Kent and all), I went to the Smarket and got back barely to see Sammy win. .500
Really it would behoove us to keep winning close games becauase Saito implies he is best when he pitches an inning every day.
You have to be Happy about this.
>> In the bottom of the sixth, 51s starter Eric Stults retired the first two batters, but went on to allow a Chase Lambin RBI single and left with the bases loaded. Reliever Yhency Brazoban promptly gave up a grand slam to Chris Barnwell to put the Isotopes up, 6-3. <<

they've been on such a tear this month hopefully they string a few loses & WE STRING A FEW W's
I know that Wes Anderson is a cinematic visionary. I just hate his vision. But I'm afraid the Wes Anderson people are going to get to me just like the Roger Kahn people did.
I like his movies, but actually think I like the soundtracks better than at least two of his films.
Okay, bottom of the ninth in Arizona. Go Astros!
I'm a huge fan, but there you go.
I just watched "Paddle to the Sea" on DVD, which I hadn't seen since I was probably around 8 years old in elementary school. Then followed it with "The Red Balloon" and later I'll watch "The White Mane." It's great stuff, but it temporarily makes me wish I had kids to share it with. Although my cat seemed to enjoy them for awhile. No DVD extras though, and they're all short, no idea why the released them separately.
Er, anyway, buenos noches!
Infielders better beware when he pitches to Brad Hawp.
Yeah, I know about you, too. But I just feel sad for you guys, sad with a touch of funny, like Anderson films.
I agree they aren't getting better, though I proclaim Tenenbaums the peak.
I'm pretentious from the outset.
But since I'm already half asleep, I guess I'll go to bed and tape the rerun to be safe.

Of the Saito who was on the mound on this night, Torre said, "That was him" -- as opposed to the impostor who blew two of his previous four save opportunities.
Saito credited a small adjustment he made to his delivery before his previous outing, with the help of pitching coach Rick Honeycutt.
